How to Uninstall iTunes on a Windows PC


Ok, Now let's take a look on how we can go ahead and uninstall iTunes on a windows PC.
Whenever you are uninstalling iTunes on your computer make sure that you uninstall all the applications that are installed along with iTunes when you installed iTunes.
They are
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Now let us start uninstalling 1 by one. Don't worry you can uninstall iTunes, Quick Time, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour in  any order
Now let us look at the steps
  1. Click start and then click on control panel
  2. In the control panel window look for programs and features (windows XP add or remove programs)
  3. Select iTunes and then click on uninstall
  4. Once iTunes is uninstalled select quick time and then click on uninstall
  5. Once quick time is uninstalled select apple software update and then click on uninstall
  6. Once apple software update is uninstalled select Bonjour and then click on uninstall
  7. Once Bonjour is uninstalled select  Apple Application support and then click on uninstall
That's it  we have uninstalled iTunes and the other applications that are required
Now let us go ahead and restart the computer. Once the machine is restarted
Download the latest version of iTunes; to Download click here
Locate the file on your computer and then install
Having issues installing then try this step and see if it resolves your issue
Some times you might face issues with iTunes not getting installed properly even after that at that time you might have to try few other trouble shooting steps to resolve the issue
In case if you face problem in installing iTunes even after uninstalling iTunes then first open computer on your desk top then go to c:\ now look your the folder named program files.
Now locate iTunes folder, delete iTunes folder
Now  look for quick time folder, delete quick time folder as well
Once quick time is deleted try to locate the folder Bonjour
Once you find bonjour delete that folder as well
Once that is done try to locate the folder common files
Once you locate open common files folder and check if there are any folder named apple is listed there
If you find any folder named apple delete that folder as well
Now come back to the program file folders and look for iPod
If you find any folder named iPod select it and delete it as well
Now come back to c drive then go to windows directory; try to locate the folder called  system 32
Once you find it open that folder check if you find any folder named quick time or quick time VR
If you find any file name quick time or quick time VR go ahead and delete those folders as well
The reason why we are deleting all these folders is just to make sure that we have eliminated all the  files are removed.
And don't worry if you are not able to locate any of these folders.
Now that since you have deleted all the folders go ahead and then restart your computer  and then try to install iTunes. Your issue should get resolved.
